Halloween 2015

And Snow White it was. Special thanks to my friends and co-workers. Always fun and fabulous!

Today's The Day

I decided on Snow White. Dragged all the stuff out and luckily found the velvet basque, which was pinned to en-smallen. I took the pins out and it's a perfect fit. Had to go over the seams a little but hope it makes the day.
The skirt I hated, and I thought, it just needs a ruffle. I will go to WalMart and find fabric to make a ruffle. The old man and I went and it was hilarious. I would hold my sample fabric to a bolt and it would be wrong. He would point to polka dots and say, "That's it." and I would say, "No it's not. That's polka dots." "What about that??" "No, that's orange." I love him so.
SO! I found fabric that was SO close, I purchased what was left on the bolt, took it home, washed and dried it and found it was not nearly close enough. NOT nearly.
I decided to make a new skirt. It turned out pretty well and I started out doing it by hand, took about 15 minutes to decide to drag out the little Jenome and whip it out. I left some dangling elastic for my radio. Hope it can support the keys. We'll see. I hope it hides my shoes too!
I will try to get pics- I"m going to carry a red drawstring bag that was originally for knitting.

Minnie Mouse?

My friend Billy was disgusted at the idea of Minnie Mouse. Hmph. That was really speaking to me. I don't know. Maybe Snow White.....and I have some new fabric to make a new one...but it's already nearly October. So I am really thinking, it's going to be Minnie.
Of course I have vacation in October. Maybe I could be inspired then...

I think I will just be Minnie again. I still fit into the dress. So there. Problem solved!

Racking My Brain

I have conferred with my Halloween muse, Billy, trying to come up with SOMETHING for this year. I have too many ideas and not enough inspiration. I am not sure what I'm going with. But I'll be doing something. I think 2012 was the only year I didn't have a costume. Sad sack!
I own a disturbing number of wigs and lots of fabrics. I should come up with something...also, thought about just simple Snow White, as that is one of this costumes that doesn't go out of style. I think it would be the 3rd or 4th time I used it. Might do!

Thinking

I am always thinking what the next costume will be. This year I really wish I hadn't already sprayed my Marie Antoinette wig red for Elizabeth the 1st because I would love to be RuPaul! BUT. I also have a lot of other wigs and fabrics and ideas. And hopefully I will come up with something fabulous. I don't know. I'm at that all or nothing point in my thinking.
