Minnie Mouse

I was Minnie Mouse this year and it was pretty successful. I can't give up the hope of making something really amazing next year, but who knows. I've got too much going on to worry about it.

Changed My Mind AGAIN!

Well QE1 will have to wait another year. This year I'm going as Ms. Kay from the Duck Dynasty- a lady I not only revere, but have the tools to imitate on Halloween. Bug's going to be Phil- no stretch whatsoever. I don't know why I haven't been able to buckle down and work on the big project, but sad fact is, I can't. I'm going to let it go this time, and do something different, and maybe next year I'll have the itch to produce something big and shiny. With Ms. Kay it took about 20 minutes to make the apron out of the nicest black satin I own, then I used puff paint to write "Ms.Kay" on it in script. The Dolly Parton boobs and a red sweater will be about it. We'll see. I have a few months. I may go insane with the need to create. But I doubt it!

Idea

Thanks to my good friend at work, Billy, I am planning a costume this year. It's sad that last year I didn't even bother. And sadder that I've been putting it off all this time. But he's my inspiration and I think I'm going to make something big. I'm reading a biography of Elizabeth I and I think I could really sink my teeth into a gown from her time. And Billy suggested I dye the antoinette wig (I've had that thing for 8 years and used it in four costumes at least) and I am unwillingly starting to get excited about it. I haven't been sewing, so that would be great. I'd love to do something over the top again. It's so much fun. And the history always makes me want to get out the sewing machine. I plan on it then. Last night I peeped in the wig box to make sure it was still there...and I'm thinking, if I can't color it with a rinse, I can get that spray on stuff, maybe.......... Oh, yes. The costume is starting to make itself!
