Another Idea
Since I had surgery in July, I have been doing nothing. I only this week felt good enough to rummage through bins of fabric to try and find something to do for this Halloween (and coincidentally,I am scheduled off this year)
I have some wonderful heavy fabric, red and blue, and I thought, man, those are Snow White colors...but frankly I have done that to death. I can think of three or four years I wore my old costume.
So I started browsing the webs and found a more ornate Snow White that I really liked the looks of, and in digging through bins of fabric, found gold tissue lame in enough yardage to make a really big skirt. So instead of princess snow I'll be queen snow. Maybe. I was watching the Olympics yesterday running seams on the soon to be skirt- and it's that material that leaves so many frayed edges and strings. Gross. But if this comes together...also, I thought about making a mock up at the same time, to make sure I didn't mess up my good fabric.
But I also found some beautiful aqua lace that I had been thinking about- making a hot pink and pale aqua faerie outfit...to wear my hot pink wig. But that seems like an awful lot of work. Of course, so does Snow.
I am hoping to have some enthusiasm for what used to be my favorite activity. Seems like this year I only get my little Janome Sew Mini out, and then only to do up a hem or a seam. Now that I'm feeling better, I need to get moving.
Pics to come someday.
