Halloween : The Big Day

This was it! This was one of the first costumes that wasn't historical. Next year back to history. I had a good time and sweated like a wart hog. I stripped the whole mess off the minute I got home. Hot!
I am glad it's over. Now I can get back to sewing fun stuff.

It's Friday?

And Halloween is Sunday and I'm not done with my costume yet? How often does that happen? Never? Maybe once or twice. I'm going to have to get up and do something. Just haven't felt well. Each day I look at Dolly's giant tatas and laugh, but....I better get moving fast.

Boobs!

Lots of work done, still more to go if I'm going to be able to work in this mess. I hope it's as funny as I think it's going to be. A little puzzled as to how to make the wig work. Right now lots of hand stitching, rigging and pinning. I look longingly at the mountain man.

Slow Going

I feel like I'm not getting much done- health issues and general malais are undermining my productivity. However, Drag Queen Dolly will be the first costume I ever made that started with the boobs. There's distinction!

STOP!

Freeze! Put that mountain man costume down!
In keeping with falling in and going along with peer pressure, which is something I've always done, I have changed my costume to Dolly Parton. (Mostly because I wont be able to wear a mountain man beard, so what's the point???) I love Dolly and this costume will be an homage to her greatness. I made the boobs yesterday, testing them for scale, considering I'm a foot taller than Miss P and have no boobs at all. I'm going for Drag Queen Dolly, or maybe Dolly Witch, depending on what kind of fabric I have stashed around. I had to submit the idea to Gail for approval, since I wasn't sure I'd be in line with theme. Checked out ok. So now, in October, I am making a last minute costume. Dumbass!
